You install. We help you get found.

Most great installers are not marketers. The dealer program closes that gap: proven creative, co-op advertising playbooks, and a review engine built for the shade business.

The best installer in a market does not always win the market — the best-known good installer does. Homeowners cannot buy from a dealer they have never heard of, and commercial buyers shortlist the names they recognize before they ever ask for a quote. That is the gap the marketing side of the AJ Shades dealer program exists to close: you bring the craftsmanship and the local reputation, and we bring the creative, the playbooks, and the brand weight that turn craftsmanship into a pipeline.

Everything in the marketing program is built from what actually works in the shade category, not generic small-business advice. The ad angles that generate shade leads, the landing page patterns that convert them, the follow-up cadence that turns a lead into an estimate appointment, the review flow that compounds into reputation — these are tested in our own Southern California installation operation every week and handed to dealers as working systems. You are not experimenting with your marketing budget; you are running the plays.

And the brand does real work for you before you spend a dollar. AJ Shades is an American-made, veteran-owned manufacturer with a 15-year warranty on retractable awnings and motorized power screens — a story that is easy to tell and hard for competitors to match. When your advertising carries that story, you are not selling shade as a commodity. You are selling the premium choice, at premium positioning, with the factory behind you.

What you get

The marketing stack

The asset library: real work, ready to run

Hundreds of photographs and videos from genuine AJ Shades installations — awnings over patios and pools, power screens on porches and pergolas, LED lighting at dusk, commercial patios in service. Every asset is cleared for dealer use across websites, social media, and paid advertising. The provenance rule is simple and non-negotiable: library assets are real AJ Shades work, presented honestly, never relabeled as your crew’s until your own photos replace them. Customers can spot stock photography; they respond to the real thing.

Co-op advertising playbooks

The campaign structures that generate shade leads, documented end to end: which ad angles pull (the patio transformation, the evening-lighting reveal, the commercial revenue story), how the landing pages are built to convert, what the follow-up sequence looks like in the first 48 hours when a lead is hottest. You run the spend in your market with creative that is already proven; co-op support from the program invests alongside you on approved campaigns. Your market knowledge plus our category knowledge beats either one alone.

The review engine

Reviews are the highest-leverage marketing a local dealer has, and most dealers leave them to chance. The program does not: a post-job request flow timed for the moment the installation looks its best, templates that make leaving a review effortless, and guidance on responding — especially to the rare unhappy one, where a good response earns more trust than the review cost. The reviews compound on your directory listing and your own profiles, and every estimate you quote afterward closes a little easier.

Showroom and display guidance

A working display sells while you sleep. The samples and displays program gets real product — a working retractable awning, a working power screen — into your showroom or onto your own patio, mounted the way the guidance specifies so customers operate it themselves. Marketing support then shows you how to photograph and film the displays for advertising that no competitor can match, because it is your product, in your space, working. The display is the ad and the closer in one.

Directory listing and local presence

Certified dealers are listed in the AJ Shades dealer directory under their state, and that directory earns national search traffic for dealer and wholesale terms that no single local dealer could win alone. Your listing carries your market, your contact information, and your reputation — and brand-level inquiries from your territory are routed to you. It is the rare marketing asset that appreciates: every dealer who joins and every review earned makes the directory stronger for everyone in it.

How it works in practice

From application to pipeline

Marketing support starts during onboarding, not after. While your crew works through installer certification, the marketing track gets your foundation in place: directory listing content, your first campaign structure, the review flow wired into your job-completion process, and the asset library open from day one so your website and social profiles launch with professional creative. By the time your first installations are complete, the machine that turns them into the next ten jobs is already running.

The ongoing rhythm is simple: run the proven campaigns, feed the review engine after every job, refresh your creative with your own install photos as they come in, and lean on the program when you want to try something new — a commercial push, a seasonal angle, a new market. The playbooks keep evolving because they are tested in live markets every week, and dealers get the updates as they land. Marketing is never finished, but it is also never guesswork.

One boundary keeps the whole system working: brand consistency. The guidelines cover how the products, the warranty, and the company are described — the 15-year warranty attaches to retractable awnings and motorized power screens, the products are American-made, installation outside Southern California is handled by certified dealers like you. When every dealer tells the same true story, every dealer’s marketing gets stronger. Consistency is the co-op’s compound interest.

The model

Local dealer, national backing

Marketing support is one pillar of the partnership; the business model is the other. You sell and install in your market, buying wholesale from the manufacturer-direct catalog; we supply the products, the training, the engineering review on every order, and the 15-year warranty on retractable awnings and motorized power screens. AJ Shades’ own installation crews serve only Southern California — San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties — and we never compete with our dealers. Inquiries from your territory are routed to you, not around you.

The lineup stays focused: retractable awnings in open-roll and full-cassette profiles plus motorized power screens — the Quality Improvement Products line. That focus is a marketing advantage, not a limitation. It means your advertising never has to explain a confusing catalog; it tells one clear story about premium retractable shade, and every asset in the library reinforces it. Specialists out-market generalists in every category, and shade is no exception.

If you are ready to be the name your market thinks of first for premium shade, start with the dealer inquiry. Tell us about your business and your market — the territory conversation covers training, launch, and the marketing plan that fills your first season’s pipeline.

Marketing questions, answered

Can I use AJ Shades photos and videos in my own advertising?
Yes — that is what the asset library is for. Every image in the library is a genuine AJ Shades installation, photographed on real jobs, and dealers may use them across their website, social media, and paid advertising. The one rule is provenance: library assets are presented as AJ Shades installations, never relabeled as your own crew’s work until you have your own photos to swap in. Most dealers start with library assets and gradually replace them with their own installs, which is exactly the progression the program is designed for.
Do you run my advertising for me?
We give you the playbooks, the creative, and the targeting frameworks — you keep control of the spend and the accounts. The co-op advertising program supports dealers running proven campaign structures for shade lead generation: the ad angles that work, the landing page patterns that convert, and the follow-up cadence that turns a lead into an estimate. Dealers who want hands-on help can ask about managed options during the territory conversation, but the default is empowerment: your market, your budget, our playbook.
What does co-op advertising support actually cover?
Co-op means we invest alongside you in the marketing that grows both businesses: approved creative and campaign structures, the asset library, landing page templates, and review-generation tooling. The specifics — what qualifies, how support is structured — are part of the dealer agreement and scale with your volume in the program. What it never is: a blank check for unapproved creative, or support for advertising that misrepresents the products, the warranty, or the territory. The brand stays clean because every dealer benefits when it does.
Will my dealership be listed on the AJ Shades website?
Yes. Certified dealers are listed in the dealer directory under their state — the same /dealers directory that ranks for dealer and wholesale searches nationally — with their market, contact information, and product focus. The directory is a genuine lead source: consumers and commercial buyers searching for premium shade in your area find the brand first and get routed to the local certified dealer. Your listing goes live when your certification is complete.
How does the review engine work for dealers?
The same way it works for our own installation operation: a simple post-job request flow that makes leaving a review effortless for happy customers, timed for the moment the job is finished and the patio looks its best. Dealers get the templates, the timing playbook, and guidance on responding to reviews — including the difficult ones. Reviews compound: a dealer with a deep bench of genuine five-star reviews closes estimates at a visibly higher rate, and the directory listing showcases that reputation to every visitor.
Do you provide Spanish-language marketing materials?
Yes. The program includes Spanish-language versions of core assets — ad creative, the estimate follow-up sequences, and review-request templates — because a large share of shade buyers in our strongest markets prefers to buy in Spanish. Dealers serving those markets get the translated playbook, not a machine translation of the English one: the messaging is built for the audience from the start. If your market is bilingual, your marketing should be too.
I already have a marketing agency. Can they use the program assets?
Absolutely — the asset library and playbooks are built to plug into an existing agency relationship. Your agency gets access to the same creative, the same campaign structures, and the same brand guidelines your in-house team would use. Many dealers find the combination is the best of both: an agency that knows their market running creative that is already proven in the shade category. The brand guidelines keep everything consistent no matter who executes.
What about a showroom or displays?
The samples and displays program covers exactly that: working product samples and display guidance down to the mounting details, so customers can operate a real retractable awning and a real power screen before they buy. There is no higher-converting sales tool in the program — a customer who has felt the fabric, run the motor, and seen the LED lighting at dusk does not need to be sold. Marketing support includes guidance on photographing your displays for your own advertising, so the showroom keeps working after the customer leaves.
