Measure like a pro
Four measurements, five minutes, zero guesswork, take these before your estimate and we will verify every one on site.
Measure the full width of the area you want shaded, wall to wall. Awnings are built to the inch, so record the exact number, wider than you think is usually right, since shade shrinks as the sun moves.
Measure from the wall out to where you want the shade to end. This decides how much of the patio stays cool at 3 PM, the most common sizing mistake is ordering too little projection.
Measure from the patio floor to where the awning will mount. Height sets the pitch, and pitch decides how the awning sheds water and how much headroom you keep underneath.
Note lights, vents, downspouts, door swings, and anything the fabric or arms would hit. A photo of the wall with the obstacles marked saves more time than any measurement.
