Wholesale, not retail: how the program is structured
The dealer program is a wholesale relationship. You buy manufacturer-direct — no importer, no distributor, no rep layers — and you sell and install at your own retail structure, in your own market, under your own brand alongside ours. Your pricing to your customer is your business; our job is to make your cost structure and your story unbeatable.
That story is the same one that closes premium buyers everywhere: American-made products from a veteran-owned manufacturer, with a 15-year warranty on retractable awnings and motorized power screens. You are not reselling a commodity — you are representing a manufacturer, and customers feel the difference.
The product scope is focused on purpose: motorized power screens and retractable awnings (full-cassette and open-roll), plus automation, sensors, and the fabric library. Patio covers are not part of the dealer lineup. Focus keeps training sharp, support fast, and your close rate high.
How ordering works
You measure the job, we build to your specification. Every awning and screen is custom-built to the measurements your crew takes — no stock sizes, no forcing a standard unit onto a non-standard opening. Your dealer training covers the measuring standards, and our team reviews specifications on your early orders so nothing ships wrong.
Orders move through a defined pipeline: specification review, build, quality check, and shipment to your shop or directly to the job site per your preference. Lead times are communicated per order, honestly — we would rather give you a real date than a fast one. As your volume grows, your ordering history makes repeat specifications faster and your planning easier.
Dealers get priority on replacement parts and warranty processing. A service call on a five-year-old installation gets the same urgency as a new order, because your reputation with that customer is our reputation too.
Territory and brand standards
We recruit deliberately and agree on your territory together during the application conversation — no stacking dealers on the same market. In return, we ask for brand standards that protect every partner: represent the products honestly, install to the trained standard, and honor the warranty story you sell. The network's reputation is shared, and shared means everybody protects it.
Use the provided assets: professional photography of real installations, co-branded quote templates, and approved product language. What you may not do is present manufacturer renderings as your own work or invent testimonials — the brand's credibility is the asset, and credibility is built on real projects and real reviews.
If a consumer inquiry comes to us from your territory, it goes to you. We do not compete with our dealers for their own customers. That commitment is structural, not a favor — it is how the program is designed.
Support and warranty processing
Technical support comes from people who have installed the product themselves. When a job gets complicated — the stucco that crumbles, the beam that is not level, the smart-home scene that needs the screens tied in — you send photos and get a mounting plan back. Dealer inquiries go to the front of the line: text (909) 325-3110 or email dealer@ajshadesinc.com.
Warranty claims on the 15-year coverage (awnings and motorized power screens: frames, hardware, motors, fabric systems) are processed through the dealer team with priority parts access. The goal is a same-week resolution, not a season-long embarrassment — because the warranty is your close, and we protect your close.
Training does not end at launch. Product updates, new automation options, and new fabric introductions come to dealers first, with the same practical focus: what changed, how it installs, what to tell the customer.
What we ask of our partners
Three things. First: be a real business with real customers — the program is for contractors, builders, remodelers, pool companies, and outdoor-living retailers who already own customer relationships. Second: install to the standard you were trained to — clean work, honest quoting, and service after the sale. Third: communicate — tell us when a job is unusual before it becomes a problem, and tell us when the market shifts so we can shift with you.
In return you get manufacturer-direct economics, the strongest warranty story in the category, and a team that answers. Dealers sell AJ Shades products nationwide — product-only and wholesale, fulfilled by trusted local contractors. AJ Shades itself installs only in Southern California (San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties); we never promise installation outside that footprint, and we never ask our dealers to name contractors on our behalf.
If that exchange sounds fair, the next step is the inquiry form. Tell us about your business and where you work, and we will talk territory.
